World Class Water
Classic Amenities
Limited Membership

The Perfect Drift Fly Fishing Club combines the natural and unspoiled challenges of Rocky Mountain fly fishing with the classic comforts of a private membership club. Located in Pine, Colorado, less than one hour from downtown Denver, the club features nearly two private miles of the North Fork of the South Platte River, a lake that produced the world record “Cut-bow” trout, fully-furnished clubhouse (converted restaurant lounge), members’ locker room, lodging, and more.

With membership limited to 44 anglers and spouses, the Perfect Drift is not only a unique and valuable opportunity, it is a one-of-a-kind fishing experience, offering solitude, technically diverse and challenging water, abundant hatches, and a healthy, sustainable fish population, all within easy reach of Denver.

The Water:

The Perfect Drift features a stretch of the North Fork of the South Platte River, which begins at the Roberts Tunnel in Grant, and collects a number of natural creeks and tributaries before it reaches the club. Thus, our river (unaffected by recent fires) is neither a pure tailwater nor a pure freestone, resulting in a technically challenging and intriguing environment that demands a well-stocked fly box, as well as innovation and skill from our anglers. The river actually changes character as it flows through the property, starting in a canyon with large boulders, glassy pools and pocket water, transitioning through a series of riffles and sweeping runs, and finally meandering through a meadow, with cut banks, backchannels and braided water. All the water holds “catchable” fish: rainbows, browns, cutthroats, and hybrids, ranging from fingerlings (the populations naturally reproduce) to 24-inch-plus fish that approach 10 pounds. Season is year-round.

The Amenities:

The converted restaurant clubhouse features a commercial kitchen and stocked bar, which can provide streamside lunches, or cater special events for members in the dining room or lakeside pavilion. Lodging is available in the historic bed & breakfast on the property, and each member is given a secure locker in the members’ locker room. You can warm up by the fireplace, tie flies at the community bench, or pick up the tippet you forgot from our “desktop fly-shop.” Members also enjoy various promotional benefits on equipment, and social events coordinated by the club on a quarterly basis. The club can also facilitate the audiovisual needs of corporate meetings or special events, as required.

Membership:

The membership will be limited to 44 members. Annual memberships may be offered at an established rate, dependent upon availability. Access to the river is controlled and coordinated with a reservation protocol. The club is governed by an elected board of directors from the membership. Membership details are available upon request.
